Killing the Dead Zones: Enterprise Wi-Fi for a Fort Lauderdale Gym
A high traffic Fort Lauderdale gym had a problem its members reminded management about daily: the rear strength training section was a signal graveyard. No cellular, no Wi-Fi, no music streaming mid workout. Alongside the gym, local business owners in the area needed the unglamorous kind of IT help that keeps a small operation moving.
Where it stands: Coverage issues never returned; the owner could monitor network health remotely from day one.
The challenge
- Complete signal dead zones in the heavy equipment areas at the rear of the facility, generating steady member complaints.
- Local businesses nearby dealing with corrupted operating systems, printer dropouts, and machines overdue for upgrades.
What we built
Ubiquiti UniFi enterprise Wi-Fi
New solid copper Ethernet runs to the rear of the facility feeding ceiling mounted UniFi access points, with centralized cloud monitoring and seamless roaming as members move through the building.
On demand desktop support
Operating system cleanups and speed work, malware removal, print server reconfiguration, and in place upgrades to current Windows versions for local business machines.
The results
- Full Wi-Fi coverage across the facility, including the previously dead rear section. Member complaints about signal stopped.
- The owner gained remote visibility into network health instead of finding out about problems from the front desk.
- Same day turnaround on critical desktop repairs for the local businesses involved.
Client details are anonymized out of respect for the businesses involved. The work, the numbers, and the outcomes are real.
